|
Introduction
It's not just the big
fairground rides and the main arena attractions alone that make an event,
sideshow attractions and stalls will give your event that traditional fun day
atmosphere and feel. From very simple sideshow games such as splat the rat and
coconut shy to amusements such as hook a duck, crazy mirrors and hoopla. Side
shows and attractions will make your event more visually interesting and
appealing to a wider audience plus give visitors to your event a wider choice of
entertainment and fun.

Making the best use of
Look
at the type of event or function you are holding, consider the amount of space
you have available and try to organise a wide variety of sideshows and
amusements that will suit all the age groups that are attending. Often smaller
fete or funday organisers will create their own favourite sideshow games but for
larger events looking to attract larger numbers, booking the services of
sideshow operators will be far more beneficial to the event. |
|
How many do I need?
If
you are organising your own small fete and operating your own sideshow games you
are only limited by the amount of helpers you have to run them. If you are
looking for specific sideshow games such as skittles, stocks etc there are
companies that will hire just the equipment for you to self operate. Generally
speaking whether a large or small event the more sideshows, games and amusements
you have the better the event. |
|
Booking suggestions
If
you're looking to hire individual sideshow equipment or sideshow operators don't
leave it too late into the busy event season, if you know your event date book
your equipment or operator as early as possible.
Fees. Hire fees for pieces of equipment will vary from hirer to hirer and
are often charged for per day. Pitch fees. Organisers of larger events
will often charge for or tender out individual pitches to side show operators. |

Regulations, insurance and other useful notes
As
with all businesses sideshow operators must have public liability insurance and
if they provide prizes or goods those items must comply with any regulations
that are associated to the type of product they are selling or giving away.
Sideshow equipment hirers depending upon the type of equipment being hired out
may need to provide a safety inspection certificate. |
