STEP1. PLANNING

Initial planning checklist for individuals planning or considering organising an Autumn event.

1.

Do as much research and learning about organising an outdoor event as you possibly can.

2.

Start planning early and give yourself as much time as you can, you'll be surprised at how fast the weeks go by when you've got a lot to organise.

3.

Firmly establish what your event is setting out to achieve, goals, aims and who will benefit.

4.

Decide the main theme of your event.

5.

Research whether or not people will actually attend your event based upon entrance fee, weather, holding during day time or night time etc.

6.

Set up an event committee with an overall event manager, event safety officer and helpers.

7.

Delegate specific event organising tasks to all your event committee members and helpers.

8.

Plan your initial funding and who will provide it as some events will need advance financing in order to get the event of the ground.

9.

Decide upon when and where to hold your event. Try to avoid clashing with other similar events in your area where possible.
