STEP2. REGULATIONS
Important regulations checklist for
individuals planning or considering organising a summer event.
1.
Notify your local council that you intend to hold an event
and provide them with your event details.
2.
Depending upon what your event may include you may need to
obtain an entertainment licence, check with your local council if this is
required.
3.
Notify local police and ambulance service about your event,
time to be held, expected crowd size, access routes to and from the event site.
4.
Prepare a sketched site plan, showing the entire event site,
with routes in and out for cars, people and emergency services plus the
positions of all the main stalls, attractions, marquees etc.
5.
Write a comprehensive list of every possible risk and hazard
that can be identified and a list of control procedures to be put into place
from looking at your plan for your risk assessment.
6.
If you intend to provide catering or refreshments ensure
that you and all helpers comply with the latest food safety and hygiene
regulations.
7.
All events, whatever type, whether large or small, indoors
or outdoors and where you are inviting the general public must provide insurance
cover.
8.
Check that all booked event services, attractions and
related business have liability insurance cover and up to date related safety
certificates.
